**Instrumentation & Control Lead Specialist**


Job Overview:

McDermott's Engineering and Construction Division has an opening for Commissioning Specialist - Instrumentation and Control, to be site based at one of our multi-billion dollar EPC projects here in the U.S. Responsible for the supporting site execution of Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up and Operations.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

+ Support of commissioning and start-up of an assigned scope of work in a McDermott project including specific complex deliverables such as development of a detailed commissioning and startup plan and schedule.

+ Assist in preparation of the project execution plans, cost estimates, subcontracts requirements and risk management.

+ Support commissioning team in both home office and field, coordinate final handover to client and provides assistance to client operations for the startup and performance testing of facilities.

+ Assists with training other commissioning specialist by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.

+ Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications between engineering, construction and project management.

Basic Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma

+ Minimum 10 years' experience power plants,

+ Minimum 5 years as an Instrumentation and Control Technician

+ Must be experienced in the operation, check out and calibration of power plant instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, level switches, gauges, valve operators, controllers, PLCs, relays, switches, breakers, and other power plant instrumentation. Need to have working knowledge of the (DCS) system and be able to perform loop and function checks from DCS.

+ Must have a least 5 years' experience in the commissioning and startup testing of combined cycle, oil or coal power plants, 10 years' experience required for lead positions.

+ Must be able to interpret and ensure compliance with design specifications, general arrangement drawings and P&IDs. Must have capabilities to follow startup and testing procedures for instrumentation testing and check out.

+ Must have knowledge of safety procedures for lock out and tag out that are normal practice in the industry for testing and startup of electrical/instrumentation equipment. Must be able to quickly learn, implement and comply with all Project specific safety procedures and make safety the No. 1 priority during execution of their duties.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

+ Technical Certification or Associates or Bachelor level degree

+ Demonstrates a advanced knowledge of commissioning

+ Able to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers

+ Experience in home office for systemization, design reviews, procedure and/or manual development

+ Standard MS Office software (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio).

+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to lead meetings and presentations
